Energy Explorer

Utility Management
Visibility of costs – Enables customers to:
- Compare Utility bills against actual usage costs
- Forecast your future costs accurately
- Contest utility bills
- Harness the knowledge and data to define and plan an energy use reduction strategy.
- “if you cant report on it, it doesn’t exist”
- Out of hours – identify any unusual increases in utility activity out with working times.
- Electrical, Gas & Water increases or decreases
Reports - Generate and export reports covering:
- Out of hours Report – Highlights all activity taken place out with working hours.
- Alarm Report – provides a breakdown of all alarms
- Energy use report – provides a customisable (hourly, daily, weekly, per shop, per area, per heating & Ventilation etc.) breakdown of all energy with the stores.
- Energy Cost Report – Demonstrates the cost in £’s of each store, broken down into particular areas such as Refrigeration and General Electrics.
- Energy Target Report – Displays the results of preset targets against the actual energy use.
- Carbon Use Report – Displays the carbon use emitted from the Utilities.
- Exportable into common formats such as Excel, PDF and XML.
Profiles - Produce energy consumption profiles for stores or classes of stores, which will allow customers to comprehensively analyse like-for-like stores in order to identify obvious flaws.
Carbon Reduction Commitment – the Application allows clients to manage the amount of carbon emitted from utilities and assists with any carbon responsibilities/policies. This is now critical as there is new legislation governing this as part of the Carbon trading scheme.
- Carbon Trading scheme is compulsory for all companies with a bill of £500k+ and rewards and penalises based on performance.
- Alpha Steel fined £1/2m for non-compliance
Staff miss-use – Highlights when various appliances are left on, allowing for customers to react.
Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECAs) – Enable a business to claim 100% first year capital allowances on their spending on qualifying plant and machinery. There are three schemes for ECAs:
- Energy Saving plant and machinery
- Low carbon dioxide emission cars and natural gas and hydrogen refuelling infrastructure
- Water conservation plant and machinery
- A full list can be found at www.eca.gov.uk
Temperature Monitoring
Alarms - Alert Facility management about refrigeration temperature threshold breaches.
Profiles - temperature profiles for stores or classes of stores are enabled to monitor like-for-like stores in order to ascertain:
- Wastage Comparison
Increased Efficiency – The monitoring system will remove the need for staff to probe foods, freeing up staff time.
Wastage Minimisation – provides real-time data to react to temperature threshold breaches, minimising the wastage of food.
Legislation – Removes the need to store paper-based copies of temperature record sheets and allows centralised monitoring for multi-store temperature fault activity.
